The Stage 2 Disinfection Byproduct Rule was finalized in 2006. Since then there has been additional epidemiological and toxicological research investigating the potential risks associated with DBPs. There has been both additional research on DBP control strategies and lessons learned through system responses to Stage 2 DBPR. AWWA in collaboration with WaterRF sponsored an expert process to summarize the state of DBP science and identify outstanding key information gaps. The webinar presentations will relate the outcomes from this analysis. Findings are expected to be pertinent to re-evaluation of current DBP MCLs, consideration of a new nitrosamine standard, and risk management implications of emerging DBPs.
