AMS, the pioneer of the in-situ stannous generation system, has significantly widened the application of this highly effective non-toxic metal to address a broad range of waterborne and airborne contaminants that threaten the health of people and their environment. SafeGuard™ H2O will enable the cost-effective treatment of drinking and industrial effluent that is contaminated with trace metals and capture airborne contaminants such as nitrogen oxides, hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide.

AMS is celebrating 10 years of delivering innovative water quality solutions that have transformed the way we see water. This milestone anniversary represents a decade of intensive research and development of real-time, online water quality monitoring and intelligent water remediation solutions to predict, control and treat regulated contaminants in drinking water, process water and wastewater.

AMS details results from a technology demonstration of the SafeGuard™ H2O intelligent Cr(VI) treatment system at Los Banos, Calif. The study demonstrated the system’s ability to effectively and affordably convert Cr(VI) into Cr(III) to non-detect level in unchlorinated well water.

AMS announces the pilot demonstration of its SafeGuard™ H2O Hexavalent Chromium [Cr (VI)] remediation system at the City of Los Banos, Calif. The pilot is being conducted in one of the city’s wells which has elevated Cr(VI) levels of 40 ppb and extremely challenging water quality due to the presence of uranium, high conductivity and hardness.

AMS introduces MetalGuard™ Lead Alert!™ — a novel automated and unattended real-time lead corrosion risk management system for monitoring the risk of exposure to lead contamination. MetalGuard Lead Alert! is specifically designed to address lead contamination concerns by providing high frequency, timely and accurate predictive data on dissolved and total lead in water samples to alert utilities and consumers of an increased risk of lead contamination, before lead contamination occurs and impacts consumers and their health.

Recent drinking water lead contamination crises in Flint, Mich., and Newark, N.J. are raising concerns about the ability of traditional lead monitoring programs to measure the presence of all forms of lead; capture unpredictable changes in water quality that result in lead corrosion; and report the contamination risk before the water is delivered to the customer. AMS is dedicated to the development and commercialization of the company’s solutions for reducing the risk of lead contamination by providing water systems and communities real-time lead monitoring solutions to protect public health.

AMS is opening a new Innovation Center in Wyckoff, New Jersey dedicated to the development and commercialization of the company’s innovative SafeGuard H2O system for reducing the risk of lead contamination. SafeGuard H2O is an Intelligent Water Treatment System incorporating real-time contaminant analysis with a proven in-situ trace metal remediation technology. It integrates AMS’s online lead analyzer for accurate, continuous and dynamic assessment of the presence of total lead in buildings or zones exposed to events that are the cause of acute lead contamination.

AMS will conduct a demonstration of its SafeGuard™ H2O hexavalent chromium remediation system during AWWA ACE19 show in Denver. The demonstrations will take place on Monday, June 10 at 11 a.m. and Tuesday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at the AMS booth #1408.

A study released by the Environmental Working Group (EWG), found that a mix of pollutants in California drinking water could cause an estimated 15,500 additional cases of cancer over the course of a lifetime. While concerns about water quality and safety continue to grow, it is important to note that a number of California utilities are already implementing real-time, online monitoring to determine the presence of water-borne contaminants of concern and ensure drinking water safety at all times. AMS is helping these utilities to not only identify THM and trace metal contaminant threats, but also to diagnose critical treatment system performance once a solution has been put in place.
